A Message from Father Nathan
My dearest people closest to my heart!
God bless you and your generous heart.
World Mission Sunday | Sun, Oct 19, 2025
—”Missionaries of Hope Among All Peoples”
Growing up as a child is still very fresh in my memory. When I think of the month of October, I think of World Mission Sunday.
In my childhood community, there will be lots of competition between lots of groups and organizations about to mobilize money to support the Mission Sunday all over the world.
Everyone in the Community Gets involved
Everyone, starting from little children to older people in the community, —everyone will be involved. Little kids will sell candles, and adults will cook something, and everyone wants to be part of it. Simply meaning: everyone wants to be part of it, and each and every person and organization wants to be involved and partake in this great undertaking.
Finally, at the diocese, the bishop will announce to the Presbyterium who has mobilized lots of money toward this cause. It’s a joy, and the community involvement!
I am missing those precious moments and memories.
the feast of St. Jerome | September 30th
We will be celebrating the feast of St. Jerome on September 30th. St. Jerome said,
“Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ.
–St Jerome
In both months of September and October, at home in India, there will be lots of quizzes on the Word of God, memorizing the Word of God, and tests will be conducted based on the Word of God.
“For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joint and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
–Hebrews 4:12 –
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and light to my path.”
–Psalm 119:105
Both of these verses talk about the greatness of the Word of God. There was once a time people did not have access to the Word of God, but we have the great privilege where we can carry the Word of God everywhere in our hands since it’s so accessible.
read and meditate on the Word of God
May I request you all to read and meditate on the Word of God, so that it may sink into our hearts. We need to assimilate the Word of God, and it should become part and parcel of our lives. Please spare some time every day of our lives to reading and meditating on the Word of God.
Sometimes you may be inspired and sometimes you may not; even if you don’t understand anything, it’s alright. Please just continue to read them, it is the WORD OF GOD and it’s the history of the lives’ experience of trillions of people over thousands of years; hence, people can’t understand everything, but still let us read and meditate on them.
With lots of love and blessings.
Ever wanting to be faithful to your service,
— Fr. Sahayanathan Nathan
