A Message from Father Nathan
“My dearest people who are all closer to my heart”
Prayerful greeting to you! I thank you for all your love, concern and understanding and for your support for me and the parish. May God bless you all! Please continue to pray that our parish may continue to be a place of welcoming as well as a place where we all encounter God in a personal manner.
The current General Instruction of the Roman Missal, notes in No 305 that “floral decoration should always show moderation,” but it is short on specifics. In the year 2000, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops published liturgical guidelines under the title “Built of Living Stones.” That document says in No. 1129 that
“the use of living flowers and plants, rather than artificial greens, serves as a reminder of the gift of life God has given to the human community.”
I believe the God that we worship deserves the best. We, as the worshiping community, must try our best to do that. Having said all of this, from last weekend onward we will have live flowers in the church. I have received lots of compliments from lots of people. Praise God! We will continue to do it. Ms. Karen Kelly donated flowers in her father’s memory. May God bless her and her family.
Would You Like to Remember Loved Ones with Flowers In The Church?
Donate Flowers May I urge and encourage families also to pick up a week or a period of weeks/month to do that in memory of your beloved ones. Please contact the office.
God bless you. Please remember that every day you are all taken to the lord in my humble prayers…
With lots of love at your service,
Fr. Sahayanathan Nathan
