A Message from Father Nathan
Do something beautiful for God. Do it with your life. Do it every day. Do it in you own way , but do it!”
–St. Theresa of Calcutta
One of the greatest gifts bestowed on us, the St. Gabriel Parish community, is our access to the ocean and beach.
When I have a chance, I go there to walk and to have a little time to pray and wonder at the creation of God. I love it just because it’s not crowed and I can enjoy the peace.
Whenever I go, I have not failed to see a lady with a trash bag collecting trash. It’s almost every time I go there. I thought that she might be an employee or a member of some volunteer group. I wanted to say “Hi” to her but I didn’t.
Last Friday I went to see her and asked her whether she was and employee or a volunteer. She said “None of the above”. She continued and said “I can do only so much” I appeciated her and told her that “YOU ARE DOING SO MUCH”.
When we compare the trash at the ocean, what she does may seem very little but she wanted to make a difference in that ocean, in that moment. She has the heart. She has the will. It may be only a little bit but that’s her contribution to nature and society in her own way.
I was reminded of the wisdom of Mother Theresa —
“Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go”.
I have witnessed that in her, the love for the community, for the nation and for nature. God bless her!
Every thought, every word, and evey action adds to the postive change in the world.
Let us remember, we can inspire the world by our life. Today the world longs for such personalities. Why can’t we be one of those personalities?
Each and every one of us is capable of making such a contribution.
With lots of love and ever at your service,
Fr. Sahayanthan Nathan

Overturning an unjust law “For nearly fifty years,” says the US Bishops’ statement, “America has enforced an unjust law that has permitted some to decide whether others can live or die; this policy has resulted in the deaths of tens of millions of preborn children, generations that were denied the right to even be born.”
