A Message from Father Nathan
My dearest people closest to my heart!
God bless you and your generous heart
Catholic Vocations
A blessing to the parish and the family
I was told that St. Don Bosco, founder of Salesian Congregation, used to say that vocation is a blessing to the parish and to the family. The reason why I am sharing is that I feel God has blessed my family through my vocation to the priesthood. I have one more cousin who is a Nun in a congregation.
I have another happiness to share with you that I have one more cousin who going to be ordained as a priest on December 27, 2023. The whole family is delighted about it, and a great amount of preparation is going on at home.
I’m Flying to India Immediately Following Christmas Masses
Hence right after the Christmas Masses, I will be on the flight on Christmas night. I will be there on the 27th morning and the same day, the ordination celebration is going to take place. I must be there, just because I have vested him. I feel privileged and delighted about it. I will be gone for a month. I have already made all the preparations for while I am gone. Everything at St. Gabriel should go smoothly. So, if you want to meet for any of your concerns, here I am until Christmas Day.
Christmas Preparation
We will have, as usual,
Christmas novena starting on December 15th in preparation for Christmas every day at 4:00 p.m.
Let us all prepare ourselves worthily. Spiritual preparation is also so important as we focus on external preparation.
On Saturday, December 16 I have invited the Cardinal Gibbons school students to come and sing for the 4:00 p.m. vigil Mass, as well as singing carols right after the Mass.
Hence come prepared to stay at the church to enjoy the carols that will be sung by the students.
Confession
Excluding our ordinary time of confession, we will have confessions on the 20th and 21st during the Novena from 4:00 p.m til 5:00 p.m. on both Wednesday. and Thursday and Friday we will have confessions right after 8:00 a.m. Mass until 9:30 a.m.
Please make good timing to go for a good confession. Let us prepare our hearts and home for the coming of Christ our Lord
With lots of love and blessings,
Ever wanting to be faithful to your service,
— Fr. Sahayanathan Nathan

Holy Doors Pilgrimage Trip Report. We are back, healthy and renewed. We had a great pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi. Everyone stayed healthy. The places we visited were more than I expected! I have realized that I have yet to learn an ocean of knowledge about our Catholic faith.

Become a Prayer Warrior. Time is Precious & With Age we Gain Time. There is no doubt that most of our parishioners are age 63 plus. Some may be quick to assume that because of our age, we cannot do a lot to contribute to the community and to society. It’s so unfortunate to think that.

I am in Rome on the Holy Doors Pilgrimage with a Group of Parishioners. Please keep us in your prayers. Preparations have begun for Holy Week and Easter. We have planned the liturgies and all the details they involve. I wish and pray that our people have a meaningful celebration of Holy Week and Easter.

The 40 days of Lent is a time of Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving. We seek to follow Christ’s will more faithfully. “We recall the waters of baptism in which we were also baptized into Christ’s death, died to sin and evil, and began new life in Christ.” Pope Francis
