A Message from Father Nathan
My dearest people who are all close to my heart!
Lots of love, blessings, and prayers to you all.
Welcome Back
I am extremely glad to witness a lot of our winter parishioners coming back to the parish upon their return to Florida! I feel extremely delighted to see your faces without a mask. As I mentioned doing the weekend Masses please continue to be safe and take good care of yourself. Your safety and health are much more important to me than any other thing.
As the winter parishioners and visitors are coming back to the church, please may I request that everyone welcome them. Let us make them feel at home. Let them feel that warmth of our love. I am extremely delighted to witness our ushers doing the welcome with their good smiles saying “WELCOME TO ST. GABRIEL! I feel the guests will be happy to see that.
Be An Ambassador
Even others, please be our ambassador when you see a visitor or guest. Please reach out to them and welcome them. Let them feel the warmth of our love. Please let me know whether I could assist you in any way on this. We may not know what each and everyone is undergoing in their life. Sometimes, our words of welcome or our smile could make such an impact and/or a difference in their lives. Hence, welcome everyone with such warmth.
Please extend your invitation to your friends and family if they have not been to church for a long time. Welcome them back!
God bless you all.
With lots of love and blessing.
Ever at your service.
—Fr. Sahayanathan Nathan

Holy Days of Obligation | The Catechism of the Catholic Church
The Catechism of the Catholic Church explains holy days of obligation this way:
Family needs or important social services can legitimately excuse the obligation of Sunday rest (specified in the Fourth Commandment). The faithful should see that legitimate excuses do not lead to habits prejudicial to religion, family life, and health {CCC 2185}.

Feast of Joachim and Anne | the parents of Jesus’ mother, Mary. On July 26 the Roman Catholic Church commemorates the parents of the Virgin Mary, Saints Joachim and Anne. The couple’s faith and perseverance brought them through the sorrow of childlessness, to the joy of conceiving and raising the immaculate and sinless woman who would give birth to Christ.

Be thankful to the Lord for all the blessings He showers upon us. We take things for granted and sometimes you don’t know you are blessed…
