God Bless You All

A Message from Father Nathan

My dearest people closest to my heart!
God bless you and your generous heart.

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

I am extremely delighted to let you know that there is going to be an appreciation dinner for all the parish volunteers. As the shepherd of St. Gabriel, I would proudly claim that there are so many of our people who share their time and talents for the good of our church. The numbers are incredible.

The Church is our Family

I want our people to feel that the church is the extension of their family, which is the truth in this case. This is the church from which we are nourished. This is from where we are fed. This is where we gain strength. And this is where our spiritual batteries are recharged. I know that I cannot do everything by myself.

By Working Together we are all stronger

When we all work together and when you all collaborate, we will be able to make a better community, an active community and that also would be what community means. Now as the shepherd I just want all the volunteers to come together and share our fellowship. This is in a way great, for the simple reason, some people may be volunteers for years but may not have a chance to meet and come together.

Come and meet other volunteers

It is also a good opportunity for us to come together and meet and enjoy the fellowship. I want to appreciate all those involved with the church in different ways and ministries.

May God bless you all.

I want to join together and say,

“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Savior” LK. 1:46.

I thank the Almighty for all of you. May He continue to shower down His blessings upon you all. Let us grow together as a praying, worshipping community. May we all be living examples of Christ’s love to the world.

With lots of love and blessings.

Ever wanting to be faithful to your service,

— Fr. Sahayanathan Nathan

Holy Days of Obligation | The Catechism of the Catholic Church
The Catechism of the Catholic Church explains holy days of obligation this way:
Family needs or important social services can legitimately excuse the obligation of Sunday rest (specified in the Fourth Commandment). The faithful should see that legitimate excuses do not lead to habits prejudicial to religion, family life, and health {CCC 2185}.

Feast of Joachim and Anne | the parents of Jesus’ mother, Mary. On July 26 the Roman Catholic Church commemorates the parents of the Virgin Mary, Saints Joachim and Anne. The couple’s faith and perseverance brought them through the sorrow of childlessness, to the joy of conceiving and raising the immaculate and sinless woman who would give birth to Christ.
