A Message from Father Nathan
My dearest people who are all close to my heart
Lots of love, blessings, and prayers to you all.
The United States bishop conference it talking about the Body and Blood of Christ
Our United States bishop conference it talking about the Body and Blood of Christ beautifully as they assert that the Body and Blood of Christ is “the presence of Christ in the Eucharist is REAL, TRUE and SUBSTANTIAL” Quoting St. John Paul
“Jesus waits in the sacrament of love” quoting the CCC “it’s called: Eucharist, because its action of thanksgiving to God”
and finally CCC:
“Eucharist makes present the one sacrifice Christ the Savior.”
Next week, we are going to celebrate the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ
How we will celebrate here at St. Gabriel
As we know, next week, we are going to celebrate the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ and more over…this year we are also celebrating: the year of the Eucharist: hence,
- we will have the procession of the Eucharist outside of the church.
- We will then have the Benediction at the end.
- There will be four stations outside the church. We will stop for a short blessing and prayers.
So, may I request of you, on the evening of Saturday next week, please park your cars in the back of the church from the second zone of the parking lot?
I know some of you will have some problems but please understand.
In the celebration of the Eucharist, bread, and wine becomes the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit and the instrumentality of the priest. The whole Christ is truly present –Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity – under the appearance of bread and wine, the glorified Christ who rose from the dead.
This is what the Church means when she speaks of the “Real Presence” of Christ in the Eucharist.
Jesus gives himself to us in the Eucharist as spiritual nourishment because he loves us. By eating the Body and drinking the Blood of Christ in the Eucharist, we become united to the person of Christ through His humanity.
“Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him” (Jn 6:56).
In being united to the humanity of Christ, we are at the same time united to His divinity. Our mortal and corruptible natures are transformed by being joined to the source of life.
God bless you all.
With lots of love and blessings,
Ever wanting to be faithful to your service,
— Fr. Sahayanathan Nathan

Celebrating my 21st Ordination
May 10
This week, I will celebrate my 21st Ordination anniversary. I DO NOT like any celebrations for me personally, but when the priesthood is celebrated, I really like it. It’s not the person but the priesthood of Christ…

Easter Sunday. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of the Christian faith. Fulfilling God’s plan of redemption and the promise of eternal life.

Holy Doors Pilgrimage Trip Report. We are back, healthy and renewed. We had a great pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi. Everyone stayed healthy. The places we visited were more than I expected! I have realized that I have yet to learn an ocean of knowledge about our Catholic faith.

Become a Prayer Warrior. Time is Precious & With Age we Gain Time. There is no doubt that most of our parishioners are age 63 plus. Some may be quick to assume that because of our age, we cannot do a lot to contribute to the community and to society. It’s so unfortunate to think that.

I am in Rome on the Holy Doors Pilgrimage with a Group of Parishioners. Please keep us in your prayers. Preparations have begun for Holy Week and Easter. We have planned the liturgies and all the details they involve. I wish and pray that our people have a meaningful celebration of Holy Week and Easter.
