A Message from Father Nathan
My dearest people who are all close to my heart
Lots of love, blessings, and prayers to you all.
Roman Catholic Church was established by Christ
when Jesus appointed the apostle Peter as the head of the church
Our Roman Catholicism maintains that the Roman Catholic Church was established by Christ when Jesus directed the apostle Peter as the head of the church. This belief is based on Matthew 16:18 when Jesus Christ said to Peter:
“And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my church, and gates of Hades will not overcome it.”
— Matthew 16:18
The Church is of Christ: from Christ to St. Peter and the apostles and later from apostles to the faithful. Church is of the faithful. Of course, it takes people, cardinals, bishops, and priests as ministers to shepherd and lead the faithful.
Hence, from the faithful to the Pope everything is holy, comprising some to be ministers. Each and every one of us is called to minister to the church in our own way.
Ministry Sunday
Last week and this week, we had Ministry Sunday and will have another, maybe in March or the beginning of April. The reason why we hold this is to inculcate in our minds that we are part of the church, we are the church.
Not all of us can be leaders, but all of us can be members of the church. We have Ministry Sunday so that we can be involved in the church and share our time and talents for the good of our church and for my church.
Learn more & Get Involved
Please come forward and involve yourselves and be part of any of these ministries that we have in the church that speaks to you. I want my faithful to feel that they are part of the church, I want everyone to feel that it’s their community they belong by their involvement.
God bless you all.
With lots of love and blessings,
Ever wanting to be faithful to your service,
— Fr. Sahayanathan Nathan
