Pray for the World | Use Your Time Wisely

Add Prayer to Your Retirement Lifestyle

Something has been haunting my mind for a very long time: Very many times we do not understand what we are blessed with. There is no doubt that most of our parishioners are age 63 plus. Some may be quick to assume that because of our age, we cannot do a lot to contribute to the community and to society. It’s so unfortunate to think that. Time is money in the modern world. Time is so precious. We are blessed with lots of time.

Holiness & Prayer

Holiness consists, to me, of the way we make use of talents or time as the means to reach God. How we convert our time and talents to reach holiness or to find Jesus matters a lot.

The world needs Prayer Now!

With my limited age and experience, I believe that the world is longing for prayers. The secular world doesn’t have the time to sit and pray like us. Since we are blessed with lots of time,l please use your time to pray for the world.

Jesus says,

“Come to me, all you who are weary to find life burdensome, and I will refresh you. Take my yoke upon your shoulders and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble of heart. Your souls will find rest, for my yoke is easy and by burden light.”

— Matthew 11:28- 30

Since the secular world cannot go to Christ with their prayers, why don’t we take them to Christ just because they are all weary and burdened so that they may find rest in Christ Jesus.

Benefits of Prayer | Prayer Makes a Difference

Prayer honors God, acknowledges His existence, His being, exalts His power, adores His providence, secures His aid, and above all makes us humble.

No prayers go unheard. Our prayers are never wasted. Our attempts may be feeble. But since the power of prayer is in the one who hears it and not in the one who says it, our prayers do make a difference.

Pray for Our Parish

We can pray for our parish since some of our people are sick, homebound, stressed out, or have other needs; hence, let us lift every one of them to the heavens.

Every day, as the shepherd I take all our people to the Lord. It’s one of the crosses or responsibilities that I have taken care of. Now, you all can share and join with me in prayers.

The Lord hears the cry of His children.

“I was naked, and clothed me; I was sick, and you visited me; I was in prison, and you came to me’.

Matthew 25:36

Let us embrace the words of Mother Theresa:

“Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely, and the unwanted according to the graces we have received, and let us not be ashamed or slow to do humble work.”

“We need to find God, and He cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is a friend of silence.”

With lots of love and blessings,

Ever wanting to be faithful to your service,

— Fr. Sahayanathan Nathan

I will celebrate my ordination anniversary on the tenth of May. I feel humbled and blessed that the precious and good Lord has also called me to share in the royal priesthood. The call to priesthood is the biggest precious gift in my life.
